Awakening Quotes

Echart Tolle:

Spiritual awakening is becoming awake of the aliveness of this moment.

Spiritual awakening is awakening from the dream of thought.

The awakening of consciousness is the next evolutionary step for mankind.

When there is a spiritual awakening, you awaken into the fullness, the aliveness, and also the sacredness of the now. You were absent, asleep, and now you are present, awake.

For most people spiritual awakening is a gradual process. Rarely does it happen all at once. When it does, though, is usually brought about by intense suffering.

To awaken, means to awaken out of the self-talk in the head, because the self-talk is a form of hypnosis  - self-hypnosis.

The real spiritual awakening is when something emerge from within you that is deeper than who you thought you were. So the person is still there, but one could almost say that something more powerful shines through the person.

Awakening is a shift in consciousness in which thinking and awareness separate.

Your primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation, but your thoughts about it. ~ Eckhart Tolle

Adyashanti:

There is a whole other state of consciousness. A state of consciousness that isn't of the world of duality. This is the state of consciousness that Jesus referred to as ' The The Kingdom of Heaven.

Awareness is an extraordinary intelligent force. It's not like the intellectual intelligence of your mind. It's completely integrated into every cell of your body and into the universe.

The only thing that covers up our true nature, is grasping, aversion and belief in the mind.

The light of awareness itself, is the deepest transformative agent and the deepest alchemy takes place in the willingness to stay conscious to our own unconsciousness.

Your life - all of your life, is your path to awakening. By resisting and not dealing with its challenge, you stay asleep to Reality. Pay attention to what life is trying to reveal to you. Say yes to its fierce, ruthless and loving grace.

You can't create inner stillness, you just notice it.

To remain unconscious of Being, is to be trapped within an ego-driven wasteland of conflict, strife and fear that only seems customary.

We are in a Journey of becoming that which we allready are. Thats the impossible paradox of our lifes.

The falling away of self (the little self) is the most significant, bewildering and liberating spiritual event in once entire life, and perhaps the least understood.

Don't think that the awakening is the end. Awakening is the end of seeking, the end of the seeker, but it is the beginning of a life lived from your true nature.

Enlightenment is a destructive process. It has nothing to do with becoming better or beeing happier. Enlightenment is the crumbling away of untruth. It's seeing through the facade of pretence. It's the complete eradication of everything we imagined to be true.

First you are a seeker, then you are a finder. Then you are what you where before you were a seeker and a finder.

Carl Jung:

Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direkte your life, and you will call it fate.

He who looks outside, dreams. He who looks within, awakens.

One does not become enlightened by imaging figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious. The latter procedure, however, is disagreeable and therefore not popular.

No tree, it is said, can grow to heaven, unless its roots reach down to hell.

There is no coming to consciousness without pain.

Synchronicity is an ever present reality for those who have eyes to see.

Paramahansa Yogananda:

Your triels did not come to punish you, but to awaken you.

Yoga is a simple process of reversing the ordinary outward flow of energy and consciousness so that the mind becomes a dynamic center of direct perception no longer dependent upon the fallible senses but capable of actually experiencing Truth.

Forget the past, for it is gone from your domain. Forget the future, for it is beyond your reach. Control the present, live supremely will now. This is the way of the wise.

Stillness is the altar of Spirit.

Practice meditation. You'll find that you are carrying within your heart, a portable paradise.

Know that this universe is nothing but a dream bluff of nature to test your consciousness of immortality.

Shai Tubali:

Spiritual liberation consists of two elements: intense spiritual experiences and piercing honesty. Both, together, break the structures of your ego. Spiritual experience without honesty is not enough. You need to see yourself as you really are: your deceptions, manipulations, and defenses, without hiding or concealing. The seeing itself is the beginning of freedom: admitting your reality, you can finally disassociate from it, and at that moment, it is no longer you.

Spiritual enlightenment is not at all about having as many peak experiences as possible. In truth, the clearest sign of enlightenment is desirelessness, which includes not needing and not wanting any peak experience whatsoever.

Spiritual enlightenment is the degree of depth to which the impersonal being that we truly are has become the central active force in our human life.

We need to remember that the spiritual journey is ment to free us from self-occupation, not to make us even more self-obssessed. If you're finding yourself centered more that ever on your story, even if it's the story of self-improvement, it's time to stop and re-evaluate the journey ahead.

True spirituality is not about going inside, but about making the inside and the outside one and the same.

The ultimate self-development is to loose the self. Not an improved self. Not the best self you could ever have. End of story. Period.

After powerful experiences, we tend to say; 'It felt as if time stopped'. But in reality, time did not stop - you simlpy had the opportunity to recognize the underlying truth that time has never existed.

Sri Ramana Maharishi

Our duty is just to be - not to be this or that.

The thought change, but not you. Let go the passing thought and hold on to the unchanging Self.

Your nature is peace and happiness. Thoughts are obstacles to realization. A thought must be quelled as soon as it rises. Whenever a thought arises, do not be carried away by it.

If one realizes at heart, what one's true nature is, one will find that it's infinite, wisdom, truth and bliss, without beginning and end.

The mind is born of the ego. The ego rises from the Self. Search the source of the ego and the Self is revealed. That alone remains.

Atman is realized with mind devoid of thoughts and turned inward. Then the mind sees it's own source and become that. It is not as the subject perceiving an object.

Mind is consciousness which has put on limitation. You are originally unlimited and perfect. Later you take on  limitations and become the mind.

About fear of death.. It is the awareness, the consciousness and not the body men fears to loose. Men loves existence because it is eternal awareness, which is their own Self. Why not then hold on to the pure awareness right now, while in the body - and be free from all fear.

The trut is that individuality is not lost, but expanded into infinity. The elimination of thoughts is or the purpose of concentrating on the deeper awareness that is behind and beyond the thoughts. ~Sri Ramana Maharishi

We are peace. But forgetting that we seek peace from external sources. It is an impossible quest and causes all this trouble.

The present difficulty is that man think he is the doer. But it is a mistake. It is the higher power which does everything and  man is only a tool.

Thich Nhat Hanh

To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don't need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.

When you love someone, the best thing you can offer is your presence. How can you love if you are not there.

When love and compassion are present in us, and we send them outward, then that is truly prayer.

Nothing can heal anger except compassion.

If we are not fully ourselves, truly in the present moment, we miss everything.

Enlightenment is when a wave realize it is the ocean.

Enlightenment is growing all the time. It is not something that happens once and is then complete.

If you just allow body and mind to rest, healing will come by itself.

Pema Chödrön

Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.

Your are the sky. Everything else is the weather.

We have a choice. We can spend our whole life suffering because we can't relax with how things really are, or we can relax and embrace the open-endedness of the human situation, which is fresh, unfixated and unbiased.

The root of true confidence grows from our ability to be in unconditional friendship with ourselves.

Sticking with that uncertainly, getting the knack of  relaxing in the midst of chaos, learning not to panic, this is the spiritual path.

Nothing ever goes away until it has taught us what we need to know.

It is't the thing that happens to us in our lives that cause us to suffer, it's how we relate to the things that happen to us that cause us to suffer.

When things are shaky, and nothing is working, we might realize that we are on a verge of 'something'.

Remember that this is not something we do just once or twice. Interrupting our destructive habits and awakening our hearts is a work of a lifetime.

Gangaji

I am inviting you to discover wats deeper than any pattern, deeper that any personality, deeper that success or failture, deeper that worth or worthlessness. There is a radiance that is undenible, allways present - the truth of who you are.

All of searching, all of the struggling, all of the efforting to find your true self is naturally revealed in open relaxed simplicity.

In a sacred moment, when attention is pulled inward, rather than continuing in its usual outward direction, silence is realized.

Fulfillment has nothing to do with circumstances.

Whatever we embrace eventually reveals the place we have been seeking.

Under the obsessive thoughts and plans, under the emotions, positive and negative, there is an ocean of peace.

Love has nothing to do with the other person. Love is truth, love is Beauty, love is Self. To know yourself, to surrender to the truth of yourself, is to surrender to love.

It is not that people want betray you. It is not that your heart want break again. Opening to whatever is present, can be a heartbreaking business. But let the heart break, for your breaking heart only reveals a core of love unbroken.

The love that you search for everywhere is allready present within you. It may be evoked by any number of people or events. But finally you must realize, you are this love. The source of all love is within you.

Sri Mooji

You never loose what you give. You only loose what you try to keep.

As long as there is a wanting in you, especially for someone or something to make you happy, paradoxically, this is a sure way to make yourself feel lacking and therefore miserable.

All ups and downs are grace in different wrappings, sent to define consciousness. Say thanks to them all.

When you have a life, you have to do something with it. When you are life, what do you have to do? It is simply unfolding.

The Self cannot leave you. Awareness cannot leave you. Everything else will leave you, but awareness is what you are.

The greatest step towards a life of happiness and simplicity, is to let go. Trust in power that is allready taking care of  you spontae0sly without effort.

Ones you have this urge to find out what you really are, the whole universe is helping you. ~Sri Mooji

Step into the fire of self-discovery. The fire will not burn you, it will only burn what you are not.

Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

The mind creates the abyss. The heart crosses it.

Do you rely on your mind for liberation. It is the mind that brought you into bondage. Go beyond it all together.

There is no question of going anywhere, arriving anywhere, or doing anything; you are there already.

Whatever happens, happens to you, by you, through you. You are the creator, enjoyer and distroyer of all you perceive.

In my world there is eternal silence. My silence sings, my emptiness is full, I lack nothing. You cannot know my world until you are there.

It is the person you imagine yourself to be that suffers, not you. Dissolve it in awareness. It is merely a bundle of memories and habits.

When I look beyond the mind, I see the witness. Beyond the witness, there is infinite intensity of emptiness and silence.

In the light of a calm and steady self-awareness, inner energies wake up and work miracles without any effort on your part.

Suffering is due entirely to clinging or resisting; it's a sign of our unwillingness to move on, to flow with life.

Jiddu Krishnamurti

The ability to observe without evaluating is the highest form of intelligence.

Only when the brain has cleansed itself of its conditioning, greed, envy, ambition, then only it can comprehend that which is complete. Love is this completeness.

Real learning comes about when the competitive spirit has ceased.

Kundalini awakening is the complete ending of self-centeredness, which release the energy which is limitless.

Tradition becomes our security, and when the mind is secure it is in decay.

The more you know yourself, the more clarity there is. Self-knowledge has no end - you don't come to an achievement, you don't come to a conclusion. It is an endless river.

The people who are sensitive i life, may suffer much more than those who are insensitive. But if they understand and go beyond their suffering, they will discover extraordinary things.

It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society.

Meditation is not the pursuit of pleasure, and the search for happiness. Meditation on the contrary, is a state of mind in which there is no consept or formula, and therefore total freedom. It is only to such a mind that this Bliss comes unsought and uninvited.

To understand the immeasurable, the mind must be extraordinarily quiet, still.

If you begin to understand what you are without trying to change it, then what you are undergoes a transformation.

Thought is so cunning, so clever, that it distorts everything for its own convenience.

When one loses the deep intimate relationship with nature, then temples, mosques and churches become important.

A man who lives never asks, "What is living?" and he has no theories about living. It is only the half-alive who talk about the purpose of life.

Violence is not merely killing another. It is violence when we use sharp words, when we make a gesture to brush away a person, when we obey because there is fear. So violence isn't merely organized butchery in the name of God, in the name of society or country. Violence is much more subtle, munch more deeper.

We all want to be famous people, but the moment we want to be something or someone, we are no longer free.

Understanding comes only through self-knowledge, which is awareness of ones total psychological process.

So to meditate is to purge the mind of itself-centered activity. And if you have come this far in meditation, you will find there is silence, a total emptiness. The mind is uncontaminated by society; it is no longer subject to any influence, to the pressure of any desire. It is completely alone, and being alone,  untouched, it is innocent. Therefor there is a possibility for that which is timeless and eternal to come into being. This whole process is meditation.

It is truth that liberates, not your effort to be free.

A man who is not afraid, is not aggressive, a man who has no sense of fear of any kind, is really a free and peaceful man.

I don't mind what happens. That is the essence of inner freedom. It is a timeless spiritual truth which release attachments to outcomes, deep inside yourself you'll feel good no matter what.

The ending of the 'me', is part of meditation. That is the major, the only meditation.

Truth is a state of being which arises when the mind - which seeks to divide, to be exclusive, which can think only in terms of results, of achievements - has come to an end.

All life is energy. If that energy is allowed to flow without any contradiction, without any friction, without any conflict, then that energy is boundless and endless.
